The 18th German Week took place in Russia, affecting all aspects of Russian-German relations. Germany remains a key economic partner for the Northwestern Federal District. More than 60 seminars, conferences, open discussions, concerts and exhibitions were held in St. Petersburg from 22 to 29 April. Despite the current restrictions, which did not allow gathering more than 75 participants at the venues, guests from different countries took part in the events, thanks to the possibility of online connection. In total, more than 800 people attended the events of the economic block, of which more than 260 were offline.
This year we were discovering new facets of Saxony, the partner state of the German Week 2021, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of the twinning ties between Dresden and St. Petersburg.
I would especially like to note the Startup Day, which took place on April 23, 2021 at the Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions office in St. Petersburg. There were many presentations of Russian and German technology startups and projects, mainly from the IT / Telecom sphere. Both from independent companies and from residents of venture incubators of large transnational holdings. Discussions about startups, their analysis, fundraising. Discussion of breakthrough innovative technologies in a networking format. Coffee and cookies. In general, it was interesting, thanks to the organizers.
